Cottage Grove, OR — (April 25, 2014) — We regret to inform everyone that the second night of the Marvin Smith Memorial Grove Classic scheduled for Saturday April 26th has been cancelled due to weather. Too much rain occurred during the last few days and flooded the pit area as well as leaving standing water in several places on the race track. Despite the sunshine the grounds were still muddy due to the air temperature being so cold.
The event is rescheduled for Saturday May 31st in conjunction with Aesthetic Surgical Arts Ladies Night but to scheduling it will only be a one day event. The purse slated for Saturday April 26th (i.e. $4,100.00 to win and $341.00 to start) will still be utilized for the new date. We will have further details on this event that we will release soon so check the website often.
Next Saturday evening on May 3rd the Cottage Grove Speedway is scheduled to be back in action with the Northwest Wingless Tour in the house as well as the Late Models, Northwest Extreme Modifieds, and Dwarfs. Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:45. Tickets are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE. For more information log on to www.cottagegrovespeedway.com.
