The Upper Midwest Sprintcar Series and the St. Croix Valley Raceway once again are pleased to announce that the running of the 3rd Annual Davey Tabor Memorial for the UMSS winged sprint cars will be on Friday night May 23 at the 1/4 mile dirt oval located near St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.  The sprint car community gathers each year to honor and celebrate the life of sprint car fan, mechanic and car owner Davey Tabor during what has quickly become one of the premier events for the UMSS each season.
The Tabor family has generously added an extra $300 for the winner, $200 for second, $100 in positions three through five, $75 to positions six through ten, $50 from eleventh through fifteen, and an extra $25 from sixteenth through twenty in the UMSS feature race.  GRP Motorsports will kick in additional money of $500 in the top ten finishing positions in the UMSS feature, making the top five positions end in the number “34” as a tribute to and in honor of Dave and Margaret Tabor’s car number.  The UMSS will run their usual double-round of qualifying races that evening with drivers earning passing and finishing points in both the Ultimate Sprint Heats and Challenge Races.  Each Challenge Race will pay the winner $50 courtesy of the Tabor family.  The total added contribution to the UMSS winged sprint purse from the Tabor family and GRP on May 23 at SCVR will be $2,150.  GRP Motorsports will also increase the first place position in the Traditional Sprint Car feature making it $334 to win.
The 25 lap UMSS feature race at SCVR on May 23 is currently scheduled to pay out as follows: (1) $1,134, (2) $834, (3) $634, (4) $534, (5) $434, (6) $400, (7) $350, (8) $325, (9) $305, (10) $300, (11-15) $250 and (16-20) $200.  The total feature purse for the night will be $7,600.  Previous winners of the Davey Tabor Memorial include Brooke Tatnell and Scotty Thiel.
Come out and join the racing community on Friday night May 23 at the St. Croix Valley Raceway on what will prove to be a great evening filled with wonderful memories of our friend, Davey Tabor.  A memorial tribute, prepared for the first race two years ago by Margaret Tabor, will be read once again at the event this year.  The Tabor Memorial kicks off a double header weekend with the UMSS winged and non-winged sprint cars racing the next night at the Rice Lake Speedway.
