TELFORD, PA. – May 7, 2014 – A handful of tracks can make or break and teams season on the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series tour.

With five race dates on the 2014 schedule, Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio is a track that is essential for any title contending team to master. Based on the first two events, Paul McMahan and CJB Motorsports are in prime position to continue their title run.

“It was a great weekend for us at Eldora,” said McMahan. “A pair of top-5’s and a fast race car on both nights have us looking forward to going back there, especially with the Kings Royal coming up in July. We’d love to take home the $50,000 in that event.”

The #51 Bairs Tree Service/ Nyce, Crete & Landis Block & Concrete/ All Star Performance sprinter timed in second quick on Friday, May 3, the first night of action at the legendary half-mile oval owned by Tony Stewart. Strong runs in the heat race and dash put McMahan in contention for the nights’ feature event.

“Friday night followed the trend of our season,” explained McMahan. “Our cars start off a bit tight and then really come in once the feature wears on.  We got the chance to get up there and battle near the front and settled for third. It really drives home how important qualifying truly is at these events. Making the dash is essential.”

McMahan and the Barry Jackson led crew used the same formula for success to achieve an almost identical result the following night.

“Saturday was similar to Friday in that we qualified second again,” said McMahan. “From there, we were excellent in the heat race, tried something and fell back in the dash and drove forward in the feature. We contended for second and battled with (Randy) Hannagan but settled for fourth. Two top-5’s is a great way to keep the momentum rolling.”

The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series tackles Jacksonville (Ill.) Speedway on Wednesday, May 7 before heading to Wilmont (Wis.) Speedway on Friday, May 9 and Tri-State Speedway near Haubstadt, Ind. on Saturday, May 10.

“We have some great tracks coming up here in May,” said the Nashville, Tenn. resident. “Jacksonville is a tight bullring and should be fun. Wilmont has changed a bit over the years but it is pretty racy. Haubstadt is simply one of the best tracks we go to anywhere. I’m excited that we’re getting to the portion of the schedule that has us racing more. I really think we’ll do extremely well as we head into summer.”
