The 36th Jackson Nationals Labor Day Classic presented by the State Bank of Fairmont will be on Friday August 29 and Saturday August 30 and will feature the return of the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series. Featuring top drivers like Louisiana’s Ragin Cajun Jason Johnson, and New Mexico’s Johnny Hollywood Herrera, the ASCS will bring over drivers from across the country to the Jackson Speedway half mile to duel for the $5,000 first place prize. “We were thrilled with the great support we received from racers across the country at last year’s Jackson Nationals” stated AtoZ manager Josh Holt “We had over 43 driver’s enter last year from 14 different states at the 35th Nationals, and we already have received entries from cars from as far away as Washington and Texas. We hope to continue to grow this event and make it bigger and better for the fans.” The Jackson Nationals will also feature top area micro sprint racing both nights, a sport compact shootout Friday night and the sport modified championship Saturday night.
Plans are in the works to once again honor 2 legends of Jackson Speedway. Friday night will honor legendary engine builder and owner Loren Woodke. The Valentine 32 will be on hand to challenge the invaders and hope to put more Jackson Nationals hardware in the trophy case. Both events are designed allow the racers and additional chance to make money with special races honoring these men.
