Brian Carber of Pipersville, PA currently leads the Rislone URC Sprint Series point chase heading to the Grandview Speedway on Saturday night, June 21.
Carber, a feature winner earlier this year at the Delaware International Speedway would like nothing more then to pull off a win at Grandview. Kevin Darling of Wyoming, DE is hot off a URC win Saturday night at the Winchester Speedway, where he led wire-to-wire to score his first win of the season. Grandview is one of the most challenging tracks on the URC circuit.
Davie “No Panic” Franek of Wantage, NJ is currently ranked second in the overall URC point chase, trailing Carber by just nine points. Ed Aikin of Lincoln University, PA will be in line-up at Grandview. Aikin scored a URC feature win earlier this year at Grandview, a track he calls home. Aikin competed on a weekly basis at Grandview in years past, racing in both the Late Models and Modifieds before moving to the URC sprint cars. Aikin is a nine time feature winner with URC and knows the Grandview Speedway better then anyone on the tour.
Always a favorite at Grandview is Josh Weller of Mertztown, PA. Weller drives the Ken Eldreth sprint car and has enjoyed much success over the years at Grandview. Weller will take part in the pre-race Meet & Greet at the main entrance on race night so make it a point to say hello to one of URC’s top runners.
At the drop of every green flag, eight time URC Champion Curt Michael is a factor to consider. Michael, a long time competitor with URC notched his first ever Grandview victory on May 25, driving the Bill Gallagher owned sprinter. Michael is in the top ten in points and will be in the field Saturday night “on the hill’.
The list of URC sprint entries will include Randy West, Troy Betts, Will Eggimann, Robbie Stillwaggon, Jonathan Swanson, Scott Lutz and Keith Prutzman.
Gates open at 5:30 PM with race time set for 7:30 PM at the Grandview Speedway.
The following weekend, URC will return to the Bedford Speedway on Friday night, June 27 then moving on to the Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday night, June 28.
