Tracy Hines and Kody Swanson will carry their tie for the USAC Silver Crown point lead into the July 24 “J.D. Byrider 100” in Indianapolis, Ind. following last Sunday’s postponement at Memphis International Raceway due to rain.
Torrential rains on Saturday and Sunday forced the Memphis postponement with track and USAC officials contemplating a rescheduling of the event later in the 2014 calendar. NASCAR star Ricky Stenhouse Jr., a Memphis-area native, was among those expected to compete at MIR.
So now Hines and Swanson will enter the race at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis July 24 with a 27-point cushion over defending series champion Bobby East.
Swanson won the Indianapolis race in May, while East was second and Hines third.
