USAC Silver Crown Championship
Through personal loss, love, pain and joy, C.J. Leary continued to race on over the past year and a half. And after finishing the USAC Silver Crown Championship points 3rd, 4th, 4th, and 2nd over the past four seasons, a title was just within reach.
For Briggs Danner and Ohio’s Toledo Speedway, it was love at first sight. The first time Danner laid eyes on the 1/2-mile paved oval this weekend, he simply decided to go out and win the thing during Saturday’s Hemelgarn Racing / Super Fitness Rollie Beale Classic 100-lap USAC Silver Crown championship season finale.
It’s last call as the USAC Silver Crown trail in 2026 comes to the end of the road this Saturday, October 3.
The place is Toledo Speedway. The race is the 13th running of the Hemelgarn Racing / Super Fitness Rollie Beale Classic as the champ cars make their curtain call for the year on the 1/2-mile, high-banked paved oval in the upper northwest part of Ohio.
Winning the Bettenhausen 100 requires skill, speed, good timing, and good fortune. Briggs Danner had all of those traits in spades throughout Saturday afternoon’s 63rd running of the Bettenhausen 100 Presented by Hunt Brothers Pizza at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
