The Honda USAC Western Midgets resume action July 26 when they take to the dirt at Lemoore (Calif.) Raceway. Trey Marcham takes an 18-point lead over defending champion Ronnie Gardner entering that race.
Michael Snider of Lakeport, Calif. won Saturday night’s 100-lap “Gerhardt Classic” Honda USAC Western Midget race at Madera (Calif.) Speedway. The race was co-sanctioned by BCRA.
Snider, piloting the S & K Automotive/Reynolds Truck & Crane Stewart/Mopar, took the lead on lap 96 from Chad Nichols, who had led for 53 laps. David Goodwill finished second ahead of Jarid Blondel, Gary Conterno and Nichols. Jerome Rodela led the first 42 laps but finished eighth.
Nichols emerged with a 24-point lead over Jarid Blondel in the pavement standings, while Blondel continues to lead the overall points with a comfortable 65-point lead over Nichols.
