Mechanicsburg, PA — (August 31, 2014) — The 410 sprint and super sportsman features were rained out at Williams Grove Speedway on Sunday night, August 31.
After all qualifying had been completed and the features were ready to roll, rains hit forcing cancellation of the balance of the program.
Because all qualifying had been completed, no rain checks will be issued.
Thus, make up features for the sportsman and sprints have now been slated.
The super sportsman feature will be run this Friday, September 5 at 7:30 pm along with the already scheduled program of 358 sprints and topless limited late models.
The 410 sprint main has been scheduled to be part of the full racing program of 358 sprints and 410 sprints coming up at the track on Friday, September 12.
Moments before the start of the 25-lap 410 Sprint Car feature on Sunday night, a torrential rainstorm struck the track. After a 15-minute wait speedway officials postponed the 410 Sprint Car main and the Super Sportsman feature.
The 410 Sprint Car starting field was entering the third turn when a driving storm struck the speedway.
Before the rain’s arrival fans watched six qualifying races. Bill Stine, Ryan Smith and Rodney Westhafer won the heats for the 25 410 Sprint cars. The preliminary races for the 24 Super Sportsman went to Rich Eichelberger, Scott Geesey and Mike Enders.
