FREMONT, Ohio – A lot of money will be on the line Saturday, Sept. 6 when Fremont Speedway gets back to action on Tank’s Meats presents A Salute to Champions Night.
The Kistler Racing Products FAST (Fremont Attica Sprint Title) Championship Series Presented by KS Sales and Service will crown their champion and the $10,000 payday that goes with the title. The JLH General Contractor FAST 305 Championship Series Presented by Engine Pro will also crown a champion and the $2,000 payday that goes with that title.
Chris Andrews currently leads the 410 FAST series by 23 points over former FAST champion Byron Reed. Andrews is looking for his first ever FAST Title. Caleb Griffith, who was recently crowned the 2014 Attica Raceway Park champion, still has a shot at the title as well as he is only 57 points back.
The FAST 305 series points are even tighter, with defending champion Nate Dussel holding a slim five point lead over John Ivy while Steve Rando is 11 points back and 2014 Attica champion Jordan Ryan sits just 12 points behind. Dustin Dinan also has a shot at the title as he is just 41 points back.
Not only will the FAST champions be crowned, but champions from throughout the track’s 64 year history have been invited back for a special Salute to Champions event.
In other track news, the Second Annual Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame Golf Scramble will take place Sunday, Sept. 21 at Sycamore Hills Golf Club on U.S. 6, west of Fremont. The event is limited to the fist 36 4-person teams and there are 10 team slots still open. Teams have to be comprised of a race driver, car owner or pit crew.
On Saturday, Sept. 6 during the racing, fans can bid to be on a team comprised of four-time UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions titlist Dale Blaney.
The golf scramble will have a 10 a.m. shotgun start. The cost is $60 per person or $240 per team and that includes 18 holes of golf with cart, door prizes, a putting contest, the Hall of Fame entertainment tend and a New York Strip Steak dinner.
The top five team scores will be put in a random drawing to win sponsorship packages that include cash and gift certificates. There will also be prizes for the fan pack teams.

All proceeds from the scramble benefit the non-for-profit Fremont Speedway Historical Club which operates the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame.
Also, those interested in competing in the new crate late model series next season at Fremont Speedway should attend an informational meeting on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. in the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame.
Fremont Speedway Promoter Rich Farmer has had one of the cars built and it has been on display in the Hall of Fame. The 602 crate engines are being added to a standard dirt late model chassis. Farmer said the rules package includes a spec tire and rules on shock packages to help keep costs in check.
