Delmar, DE — (November 24, 2014) — Eighteen year old Brad Franks successfully completed his first year in 360 sprint cars and with URC in 2014. Franks of Collegeville, PA will be URC’s 2014 Rookie of the Year and for that accomplishment, he will receive a Simpson helmet. In just his first season of 360 sprint car racing, Brad finished thirteenth in the 2014 URC point standings.
“It was a great first year for us and we learned so much on what is often a long learning curve”, said Franks. “What it comes down to is being smooth on the track and sometimes, you have to go slower to be faster”, added Franks. That first year of racing is never easy and Brad was very appreciative of the help and support he received from his parents, as well as Fred Kennedy, Randy West and the Stillwaggon family. “I like the big and fast tracks like Williams Grove, Bedford and Port Royal and I’m excited about the 2015 racing season”. Franks continued to say, “While I enjoyed learning in the 360 sprints, I had a lot of fun racing a limited schedule with the 305 sprints last year as well”.
