With sponsorship from Midwest Power Equipment, the Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series (UMSS) is proud to announce a special four race series within the 2015 UMSS winged sprint car schedule. The four race series is slated to take the green flag on Saturday June 27 during the inaugural appearance of the UMSS winged sprint cars at the Deer Creek Speedway near Spring Valley. August 2 at the Granite City Speedway in Sauk Rapids will be the venue for the second Midwest Power series race, as the UMSS Traditional sprints will also be on the program. On Thursday August 20, the K.R.A. Speedway in Willmar will host their 4th annual UMSS night at their west central Minnesota track for the third Midwest Power series race. The finale will be held at the St. Croix Valley Raceway on September 11, and the Traditional sprints will also be on the program that evening.
With added purse money from Midwest Power Equipment, the four race series will feature $2,300 to win at the first three events with $2,000 added into the purse at the final series race which will be the 23rd Annual Earl Kouba Memorial. The Kouba Memorial is typically the best-paying event on the UMSS winged sprint car schedule, and with an additional $2,000 from Midwest Power Equipment plus the outstanding sponsorship money raised by the Kouba family each year for this event, the final night of the Midwest Power Outlaw Sprint Car Series should be a dandy! The champion of this four race series will be awarded $1,000 after the final race. In case September 11 should fall victim to the weather or if one of the first three shows gets rained out, the rain date for the final show would be the following night at the Cedar Lake Speedway for the 15th Annual Jerry Richert Sr. Memorial. Separate points, using the standard UMSS point system, will be kept for the four race Midwest Power Outlaw Sprint Car Series.
Midwest Power Equipment is a commercial equipment wholesaler located in Bloomington. The company specializes in the sale of a variety of power equipment products. The UMSS, sprint car drivers, and sprint car racing fans owe a huge thanks to Randy Grages from Midwest Power Equipment for making this special four race series a reality. 2013 UMSS Champion Chris Graf from Glencoe, who is sponsored by Midwest Power Equipment, along with a host of other top drivers will be gunning to take home their fair share of the money. Look for additional information and details in the coming months regarding this special four race series.
