Windom, MN — (March 13, 2015) — The National Sprint League’s July “Fair Speedweek” just got one race better with the addition of the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines on Wednesday, July 22. The historic half-mile will follow the event at the Hancock County Fair in Britt, Iowa on July 21, and precede events at the Jackson County Fair in Jackson, Minnesota on July 23 and the Crawford County Fair in Denison, Iowa on July 24.
Plenty of travelers are expected to challenge the potent NSL regulars during “Fair Speedweek”! Six races in six nights are possible for sprint car drivers in the Midwest! A regular show at Knoxville Raceway in Iowa will follow on Saturday, July 25, and the NSL will compete at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota on Sunday, July 26.
Weekly sprint car racing returned to the ½-mile Iowa State Fairgrounds in 2014, featuring the 305 class. In addition, Don Droud Jr. bested the competition in July in a 360 Sprint Invaders event. The last 410 event in Des Moines came with Kerry Madsen’s $4,000 victory in the 1999 Danny Young Memorial.
