Rossburg, OH — (March 23, 2015) — Baltes built up the legendary Eldora Speedway long with Eldora Enterprises to become one of the most revered promoters in all of motorsports. Coming up with events such as the World 100, Kings Royal, Historical Big One, and two Million Dollar Races for sprint cars and late models Baltes help propel dirt track racing to a different level.
Baltes was born in April 27, 1921 in nearby Versailles, Ohio and was a band leader before being inspired to build Eldora after seeing a race at New Bremen Speedway. Baltes built Eldora and promoted it until the end of the 2004 season. For the next 10 seasons Baltes still could be found most Saturday night’s at Eldora able to kick back and watch the races with his family.
