Lebanon, IN — (May 19, 2015) — Dameron Taylor leads the Mel Kenyon Midget Series back onto the high banks of Anderson Speedway this Wednesday evening for the first race of the 67th Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW-GM week. Taylor grabbed the USSA Midget Series point lead on May 9 at US 24 Speedway with a strong 2nd place finish on the dirt bull ring.
Taylor is one of four drivers entered in the series’ second race of the season at Anderson Speedway who have claimed wins on the legendary quarter mile. He’s joined on the winner’s list by Jessica Bean (3), Kyle O’Gara (2) and Logan Huggler (1). Point leader Taylor has been of model of constancy in the early 2015 competition. The Indianapolis native has scored three seconds and a third to start his season.
Early point leader O’Gara left the starting blocks in style taking the checkers at the first three races in the 2015 Mel Kenyon Midget Series season including th series opener at Anderson Speedway. Kent Kriegbaum picked up the win with a heads up drive in the fourth event at US 24 Speedway May 9 settling into the second spot in the point battle.
Ashlea Albertson, Huggler and Amanda Davies fill the remaining spots in the top five. O’Gara and Bean have each missed a race due to other commitments and have dropped to seventh and tenth as a result.
Taylor will guide the Mel Kenyon Midget Series back into action this Wednesday May 20 at Anderson Speedway. The Kenyon midgets will be joined on track by the Must See Racing winged sprint cars. The Mel Kenyon Midget Series feature will kick-off the racing activities of the 67th Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW-GM week. The Anderson Speedway spectator gates will open at 5 PM with qualifying at 6 and racing at 7.
