Selinsgrove, PA — (June 3, 2015) — The United Racing Club 360 sprint cars will be back at Selinsgrove Speedway this Saturday, June 6, in a 25-lap A-main paying $2,000 to win sponsored by Advanced Concrete Systems of Middleburg. Joining the 360 sprint cars on the night’s racing card will be the super late models and pro stocks.
The speedway will also welcome the York County Racing Club to the track for the three-division racing program. Track gates will open at 5 p.m. with qualifying slated to begin at 7 p.m.
In URC’s first appearance at the track this season on May 2, Mark Smith, the defending track champion and current points leader, scored the victory in the 35th Annual Jack Gunn Memorial. Smith also has two other wins at the speedway this season as well as wins at East Bay in Florida, Susquehanna Speedway in Newberrytown, and just last weekend at Autodrome Granby in Canada.
Other winners this year include defending URC champion Davie Franek of Wantage, N.J., and Eric Tomacek of Abbottstown.
The following weekend, Saturday, June 13, the Patriot Sprint Tour will sanction the 12th Annual Joe Whitcomb Memorial for 360 sprint cars.
This month the 360 sprint cars will also be featured in the $10,000-to-win 15th Annual Mach 1 Chassis National Open on Saturday, June 20.
Founded in 1986 by the late Larry Yarger of Middleburg, Advanced Concrete Systems, Inc. sells and installs prefab foundations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia. The company employs approximately 100 people at its manufacturing facility, including manufacturing plant personnel, set crews, crane operators, truck drivers, sales people, and office staff.
Selinsgrove Raceway Park will be in action at 7 p.m. Friday, June 5, with a program of go karts and 125 micro sprint cars. Track gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
