– KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Sept. 1, 2015) – Devin Kline capped the 2015 season last Saturday by recording his fifth feature victory of the year at Knoxville Raceway en route to a second-place result in the 305ci championship standings for White Lightning Motorsports.

“To win five out of eight races is a huge accomplishment,” he said. “The team gave me a great car. I got the easy part of just driving it. When we started out the year we had a base setup and didn’t think we’d have to change anything. As the year went on we kept making little changes and got faster and faster.”

That speed was showcased on Saturday at Kline qualified second quickest. He then advanced from sixth to fourth place in a heat race to make the feature redraw, where Kline pulled the No. 1 to garner the pole position for the 15-lap main event.

“I got the lucky redraw, but McKenna (Haase) was able to shoot by me on the start of the feature,” he said. “I tried to tuck in and make the best line I could. The longer the runs got the more I could reel her in. Once we got to that first car of lapped traffic it was on the bottom and she went to the top. I went through the middle in turns three and four and took the lead.”

Kline took the top spot with three laps remaining and he held on following a green-white-checkered restart to score his seventh career triumph at the half-mile oval.

White Lightning Motorsports teammate Jamie Ball nearly had a standout finish to his season at Knoxville Raceway as well. Ball timed in third quickest during qualifying and he maneuvered from sixth to fourth place in a heat race to advance into the feature redraw. He drew the No. 6 to start on the outside of the third row.

“I had an excellent car,” he said. “I moved forward right away. I was right on Dusty Zomer for second until I blew a power steering line. That’s the story of our year there. Just little failures here and there have undone us. I ran about three or four laps without the power steering and finally it was getting so much fluid on my feet and pedals I had to stop.”

Ball was running third with five laps remaining when he brought out a caution. He was unable to finish the race and was credited with a 16th -place result. Ball placed seventh in the 360ci championship standings, marking his third straight year in the top 10.

Ball is scheduled to compete this Friday at Scotland County Speedway in Memphis, Mo., with the ASCS Warrior Region; Saturday at Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Ill., with the Sprint Invaders; and Sunday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., with the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints.
