Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will present the 48th annual Tuscarora 50 weekend for sprint cars this Friday and Saturday night, September 11 and 12 at 7 pm, as part of the 161st annual Juniata County Fair.
Tony Stewart’s All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints will compete against the PA Posse in both nights of 50 weekend action.
Friday’s Night Before The 50 sprint car program will pay the winner $5,000 to win the 30 lap feature event and $400 just to start.
Packer’s Concessions of Centre Hall is sponsoring a $100 fast time award for the fastest Night Before The 50 qualifier in time trials.
The super late models are also on the Friday card with group time trials slated in warm ups.
The super late feature will go 25 laps in distance and pay $2,000 to win.
Saturday’s 48th annual running of the Tuscarora 50 will see a total event purse of over nearly $45,000 posted for the sprinters including a paid B and C Main.
Sponsored by Ramsey’s Car Washes and Packer’s Concessions, the Tuscarora 50 main event will pay a minimum of $12,000 to win and $600 just to start.
Each lap of the Tuscarora 50 will pay $25 to lead and the Packer’s Concessions fast timer for the 50 will receive a $100 cash award.
The econo lates will join the 410 sprints for the 50 program.
Admission to the Juniata County Fair that surrounds the speedway is FREE both nights with adult race general admission priced at $25 on Friday and $30 on Saturday. Students ages 12 – 18 are admitted to the races for JUST $7 both nights.
Economical camping is available adjacent to the fairgrounds for the big weekend.
Gates for Friday’s program will open at 4:30 pm with Saturday gates opening at 3 pm.
The 2014 Night Before event drew 41 cars and saw Stevie Smith take the lead from Doug Esh for the win.
With 41 cars in action for the 50 itself last year, Greg Hodnett dominated the event from start to finish to record a win worth over $13,000.
