Syracuse, NY — (September 21, 2015) — The final chapter of the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) point championship comes down to this Friday night the Fonda Speedway. Coming into the event, Steve Poirier has a 44 point lead over Jason Barney with only the 25 lap A-Main left to see who is the 32nd Anniversary Champion.
The next night, many of the ESS faithful will head to the Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Vermont for the first annual Green Mountain Nationals. It will be Vermont’s richest sprint car race ever as $3,000 awaits the winner of the A-Main Event.
Back on Memorial Weekend, Fonda actually kicked off the 2015 season due to several cancellations before. Chuck Hebing brought his familiar #45 to victory lane on that night over Poirier and Paul Kinney. These stars will be also joined by the likes of Matt Tanner, Tommy Wickham, Paulie Colagiovanni, Shawn Donath, Dylan Swiernik, Dave Axton, Danny Varin, Parker Evans, Mike Stelter, Jeff Cook, Cory Sparks, Stewart Friesen, Larry Wight, Bobby Varin, Mike Mahaney and others.
The NAPA Auto Parts US Tour 2015 will also come to a close and Poirier has a 63 marker lead over Barney for that title. Dover Brake and Clutch will bring you the Cobra Coaches Dash on this night.
It’s been since Aug. 25, 2002 that ESS has been to the track in West Haven, Vt. But, while it’s the same facility, it will be the dirt track inside the asphalt track which used to be the original dirt track when last visited.
The $3,000 to win event also pays $2,000 for second, $1,000 for third with $300 to start. A special $1,500 dash is set with the winner getting $500 with $100 to win heats and lap money that is totaled over $800 so far.
Top runners from Sprint Cars of New England such as Dan Douville, Chris Donnelly, Scott Holcomb, Will Hull, Kevin Chaffee, Jake Williams, Butch Valley, Lacey Hanson, Luke Greenwood and others will be on hand.
The final big weekend of 2015, we will crown our 32nd Anniversary champion and next night give out a whole bunch of money. Fonda, Devil’s Bowl…It will be excitement guaranteed!
