Port Royal, PA — (October 5, 2015) — Port Royal Speedway will host the fourth annual running of the Keystone RaceSaver 305 Sprint Blue Collar Classic Challenge coming up this Saturday, October 10 at 5 pm.
Some 50 cars have already pre-registered for the one-day affair that features group time trials, heats, consolations and a 25-lap RaceSaver 305 sprint feature paying $1,000 to win and $400 to start.
The RaceSaver 305 sprints will also compete in a full purse Founder’s Cup event to end the night, comprised of drivers who failed to qualify for the main event.
Also on the Port Royal Blue Collar Classic racing card is competition for limited late models, xtreme stocks and four cylinder pure stocks.
Limited late models that compete at not only Port Royal but also at area tracks such as Williams Grove, Susquehanna and Hesston are eligible to compete in the late model portion of the night.
The 20-lap limited late feature will pay $1,000 to win and $100 to start.
Xtreme Stocks will compete in a 20-lap feature on the night paying $400 to win with heats being contested to start the event.
Eligible to compete with the xtremes in the race are stock cars from Susquehanna, Selinsgrove and Big Diamond Speedways.
Four cylinder pure stocks will race in a 15-lap feature event.
The Keystone RaceSaver interregional sprint car action will bring together 305 sprint stars from regions across the east.
Represented in the event aside from the local, hosting PA Sprint Series region will be TSRS, VSS, CRSA and the Laurel Highlands.
Jeff Geiges of Hamilton, NJ., is the defending Port Royal Keystone RaceSaver Challenge winner with Sean Campbell taking the inaugural event in 2012. Mifflintown’s Jake Waters scored the 2013 version.
Adult general admission for October 10 is set at $15 with students ages 12 – 18 priced at $7.
One week later at Port Royal Speedway, Open Wheel Madness will hit the track on Saturday, October 17 at 5 pm, featuring 410 sprint and URC sprint action.
The mighty URC 360 sprints will return to Port Royal along with the 410 sprints for twin 25s for the divisions.
The 410 sprints will campaign in a World of Outlaws tune up event paying $5,000 to win and $350 to start in the 25-lap affair with the outlaw format utilized to set starting lineups.
Both 360 and 358 sprints are eligible to compete in the URC Sprint portion of the show with the URCs racing 25 laps for $2,000 to win.
The October 17 racing program is part of a weekend-long affair at the speedway known as Port Royal Foliage Days.
Foliage Days features a craft, food and flea market at the track both days along with a parade in Port Royal on Saturday at 1 pm and a classic car show at the track on Sunday.
Admission to Foliage Days is FREE with race admission set at $20 for adults and $7 for students ages 12 – 18.
And then the 2015 Port Royal Speedway season climaxes with the return of the World of Outlaws sprint cars to the track on Saturday, October 24 at 5 pm along with the Mid Atlantic Modifieds.
The World of Outlaws sprint cars will compete in a 30-lap main event paying $10,000 to win in the big event.
Tickets are now on sale at worldofoutlaws.com and are priced at $30 adult general admission and $20 for students ages 12 – 18 with reserved grandstand seating available regardless of age for $35.
