Clauson teams with Byrd Racing and Dale Coyne Racing for 2016 Indianapolis 500

Indianapolis, IN – (December 11, 2015) – Dale Coyne Racing in conjunction with Byrd Racing announced on Friday they will field and entry in the 100th Indianapolis 500 for Bryan Clauson. Clauson and Byrd racing shift their partnership from KV Racing over to Coyne for 2016. Clauson’s entry in the 500 will still carry car number 88.

This will be Clauson’s third attempt at Indianapolis and second partnered with Byrd.

“The Byrd family came to me two and half or three years ago ago to bring a grass roots guy back to the speedway, now we’re back here for the second year in a row,” said Clauson. “It’s been great continuing our growing plans in racing not only on the Indy Car level but the Short Track level as well.”

In addition Byrd Racing announced a new program for the USAC National and Western States Midget Car Series Indy Challenge that gives an opportunity for a driver to potentially earn a ride in the Freedom 100, Indy Lights oval races, or the Indianapolis 500 if they can win at least five of seven selected races.
