The 2016 chase for the Myers Racing Engines URSS National Championship continues this weekend with the Rebels taking to the lightning fast 3/8’s mile oval at Rolling Plains Motor Speedway in Hays, Kansas. Rpm Speedway will come alive with one of the most anticipated two day shows on the schedule. Six drivers have captured the coveted crown, Patrick Bourke, Kasey Beckham, Ty Williams, Jake Bubak, Zach Blurton and CJ Johnson, the only multiple winner of event. Only two drivers CJ Johnson (2008) and Ty Williams (2012) have swept both nights the history of the event.
So far three national races have been run in the 2016 Myers Racing Engines National Points chase with three different drivers claiming victories. Luke Cranston, Jason Martin and Zach Blurton have been victorious in the first three events. Cranston picked up the win at DCRP in the preliminary night of the Steve King Memorial with Jason Martin grabbing the $2,000.00 top prize on the Championship night. Zach Blurton picked up the latest National Event win at North Platte Nebraska last Saturday Night.
This year’s Preliminary night will pay $500.00 to win/$125.00 to start with Sundays night’s Championship Night paying $2,000.00 to win $200.00 to start. In addition, S&W Supply/Federated Auto Parts will be giving away a special Pitt Boss Custom pellet Grill awarded to the driver with the highest combined points total for the two night show. Special thanks to Lance Pittman and the staff at S&W Supply, your local Federated Auto Parts store for the bonus prize for this weekend’s races.
It’s a great kickoff weekend to the Ellis County Fair with drivers from five states descending on the 3/8’s mile high banked oval to battle for the top prize. Come out and cheer for your favorite driver as they compete for the $2,000.00 payday. Remember, the teams are always happy to meet with their fans after the races. Many have t-shirts, hero cards for you and they’ll be happy to visit with you after the races.
Saturday night joining the URSS 305’s will be IMCA Sport Mods, Hobby Stocks, Sport Compacts plus the Crazy Cruisers ($200 to win). Sunday night will feature the URSS 305’s will be IMCA Modifieds and Stock Cars. This will be a draw/redraw event.

The United Rebel Sprint Series regretfully has announced that the scheduled race on the Friday the 15th at Wakeeney Speedway has been taken off of the schedule due to circumstances beyond our control. The staff of the URSS would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but it is simply out of our hands.
