Banks, Oregon- If you are an avid fan of open wheel racing then make sure to travel to Sunset Speedway Park this Saturday, July 23rd. All five classes on the card are considered open wheel and are guaranteed to wow you. The event is being billed as the 98.7 The Bull Open Wheel Frenzy and is being presented by J.A.G. Racing, Premier Community Bank, and Habit For Humanity.

Classes in action include the Wingless Sprint Series, the Northwest Focus Midget Series, Dwarf Cars, and both classes of 600cc Micro Sprints. Also our friends at 98.7 The Bull will be on hand for prizes and giveaways throughout the course of the evening.

Saturday will be the first-ever visit by the Wingless Sprint Series to the “Banks Bullring”. Formerly two separate entities, the Northwest Wingless Tour and the Oregon Double Shot Series, the two Non-Wing groups decided to reunite and form one series over the past offseason. So far in six events there has been five different winners. Rob Lindsey has the most, with two, while Cooper Desbiens, Kyle Miller, Gary Lynch, and Lance Hallmark all have one.

The Northwest Focus Midget Series also will be making their first appearance of 2016 at SSP. Defending series champion, Tristin Thomas, has five wins this year while Chance Crum, Nick Evans, and Eric Turner all have a pair of wins each. The Washington-based series features some of the best Midget racing talent in the entire western United States.

In Dwarf Car competition, Shane Youngren has been the guy to beat. Youngren has put together four wins over the course of the campaign. Marty Holmason, Jimmy Brinster, and Guy Tow Jr. all have a single victory to their credit.

Lane Taylor is the only driver to have two wins in the 600cc Restricted Micro Sprints. Dakota Drake, Kaden Holm, and Jesse Schlotfeldt all have managed to win once. In the 600cc Open Micros, Devon Borden is the only two race winner. Jeff Broadwell, Jesse Schlotfeldt, and Joe Constance have made single trips to the winner’s circle.
