The only thing hotter than the weather at Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday night was the action on the track.  No. 65 Todd Sherman picked up his first feature win of 2016 in the K&N Filters UMP Modifieds, No. 17 Jared Horstman won the K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders feature, No. 22T Tony Anderson won the Bud Thunderstock feature, and No.71 Chris Hicks grabbed the Ulms Inc, Tuff Truck win.
Kicking off the night were the Bud Thunderstocks in the McDonald’s Dash for Cash.  Sidney Ohio’s Dan Wooten in the #54 car would grab the dash win and $100, courtesy of Lewis Family McDonald’s of ima and Allen County.
The K&N Filters UMP Modifieds would be the first to run in feature action in their 20 lap A Main.  UNOH Racer Jared Spalding in the No. 01 and No. 65 Todd Sherman would lead the field to green.  Sherman would take off to the early lead over Spalding, No.22T Tony Anderson, and No. 18 Randy Lines. No. 95J Jerry Bowersock would make his way into the top 5.  Cautions on laps 13, 14, and 15 would keep the field bunched up and create a great battle for 2nd, but there would be no stopping Sherman from grabbing his first win at Limaland in 2016 over a hard charging Lines.  Anderson would be 3rd with Jerry Bowersock 4th, and Spalding finishing 5th.
Next up were the K&L ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders.  No. 49 Shawn Dancer would bring the field to green alongside No. 87 Jason Barney.  Dancer would lead the first 8 laps before getting upside down in turn 4, bringing out teh red flag.  Dancer would walk away from teh wreck under his own power.  Barney would inherit the lead on the restart and run strong in the middle of the track, until No. 17 Jared Horstman completed his ascent thru the ranks to grab the lead on lap 14.  A very scary incident on lap 17 brought out a red flag, as No. 2 Kyle Sauder’s car went up in flames, with Kyle jumping out of the car engulfed in fire. Safety crew were immediately on the scene to extinguish the blaze.  Sauder walked to the ambulance under his own power, and was rtransported to a local medical facility, with no update available at this time.  On the restart, No. 6S JR Stewart would blast to the point and seemed to be on his way to his 3rd win of 2016, but a last lap charge by Horstman would result in a win decided by just 0.056 seconds according to electronic scoring. No. 30 Hud Horton would finish 3rd, with No.35 Ron Blair 4th, and No. 5M Max Stambaugh 5th.
The Bud Thunderstocks would be third on the night with their 15 lap A Main. No. 22T Tony Anderson, and No. 7 Jordan Conover would bring the field to green, with Anderson leading early.  Anderson would never be seriously challenged, but the rest of the top 5 spots were heavily contested throughout the race, with No. 26 Justin Long ccoming home 2nd in a backup car, Conover would finish 3rd, No. 82 Chris douglas would be fourth, and No. 27 Frank Paladino would complete the top 5.
The Ulms Inc. Tuff Trucks would wrap up the night with their 12 lap feature.  The feature would begin with a bang as No. 51 Erik Wolleson would go up in flames down the front stretch, bringing out the caution and causing a complete restart.  No. 71 Chris Hicks wasted no time in grabbing the lead from polesitter, No. 17D Chris Anderson and set sail, leading all 12 laps.  Chris’ brother Mike would run 2nd in the No. 33 truck after a hard fought battle with No. 20k Bill Keeler, who would end up 3rd.  No. 9x Mike Grigsby would finish 4th and No, 17H Kelsey Helmig would complete the top 5.
Limaland Motorsports Park will roar back to life next Friday July 29th, when Homeland Technology Group presents “Meet the Drivers Night”.  The K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprints, K&N Filters UMP Modifieds, and Bud Thunderstocks will all be in action, trying to make end of season runs toward points championships.  Come out and enjoy a great night of racing and an autograph session with the drivers of Limaland Motorsports Park!  Details on this and all events can be found at www,limaland.com
