KNOXVILLE, Iowa (August 9, 2016) – After the Price Chopper Front Row Challenge at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa on Monday night, Missourian Danny Lasoski leads his nephew Brian Brown, 174 to 172 points, in the 2016 Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Southern Iowa Sprint Week point standings. Daryn Pittman won the National Sprint League (NSL) sanctioned Price Chopper Front Row Challenge. The attention now turns to ‘The Granddaddy of Them All,’ the 56th annual 5-Hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals at the legendary Knoxville Raceway, Wednesday through Saturday.
The unofficial top ten in the 2016 Cox Design Southern Iowa Sprint Week points after five nights is as follows: 1., Danny Lasoski, 174 points; 2., Brian Brown, 172 points; 3., Tasker Phillips, 155 points; 4., Sammy Swindell, 138 points; 5., Dusty Zomer, 135 points; 6., Jamie Veal, 134 points; 7., Ian Madsen, 129 points; 8., Dale Blaney, 125 points; 9., Brooke Tatnell, 123 points, 10., Terry McCarl, 104 points.
The Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Southern Iowa Sprint Week includes ten points-paying sprint car feature races in ten days, August 4-13, between the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville and the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa. The top three places pay $2,500, $1,000, and $500, respectively, with the winner declared the Jesse Hockett “Mr. Sprint Car” titlist.
