An extremely successful 2016 season came to a close on Saturday night for Andy Forsberg and the C&M Motorsports team as they celebrated their second consecutive Civil War Series Championship together and the ninth series crown for Forsberg.
“It is very cool to come out here and get another Civil War Series Championship,” Andy Forsberg said. “This C&M Motorsports car was a blast to drive all year and this is a great way to end our season.”
Heading into the night with a slim 16 point lead over Mason Moore, things would get a little tense early for Forsberg and team as their rig would break down on the way to the track.
Getting a little antsy, things would work out as the car would arrive at the speedway with time to spare and Forsberg and company could focus on racing.
With 49 360’s checked into the newly renovated Stockton Dirt Track on Saturday night, Forsberg would do all the right things as he was able to claim his ninth career Civil War Series title.
Timing the C&M Motorsports No. 7c machine in fourth fastest overall in his qualifying flight, the Auburn, CA driver would pick up more valuable points as he was able to race from the second row of his heat race to capture the win.
Focusing on one race at a time, Forsberg would line up scratch on the field in the Dash, and his fifth place finish would put him in the third row of the 30-lap finale.
On an extremely slick and abrasive Stockton Dirt Track, Forsberg was able to stay inside the Top-Five during the duration of the feature event as he battled with the likes of Sean Becker, DJ Netto, and Dominic Scelzi.
Running fourth late in the race, Forsberg and Sceliz would hook up in a battle for the final two markers that would result in Forsberg finishing in the fifth spot.
By way of his finish, Forsberg would pull into victory lane and celebrate his second consecutive series triumph with the C&M Motorsports team.
“It was a great night to celebrate a title,” Forsberg added. “The crowd was packed, and everyone was able to have a good time. Thanks to this team for all of their hard work this year.”
The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
