From Fully Injected Motorsports:
MYERSTOWN, Penn. (November 7, 2016) – Brent Marks ended his 2016 season inside the top-five; finishing fourth during the $5,000-to-win Sprint Showdown at Susquehanna Speedway on Saturday, November 5. The “Myerstown Missile” flirted with a podium finish during the entire main event, sliding back to fourth with a few circuits remaining after missing a last chance effort to take control of the top spot.
“We had a really good run yesterday. I am happy with our performance,” Brent Marks explained. “I raced inside the top-five most of the race and found myself just behind the leaders with less than five laps left. We had a late restart with four to go, so I figured if I was going to win this thing, I would have to go for it now. Unfortunately, it didn’t stick and we ended up drifting back to fourth. Regardless, we had a strong car all day. Daytime conditions can make things difficult. We’re happy.”
With his 2016 campaign officially in the books, Brent Marks will move ahead and begin the rebuilding process for next season. The pilot of the Brent Marks Racing, M&M Painting & Construction, BAPS Auto Paint & Supply, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Russell Heller Builders, KC Automotive, No. 19M program will enter the 2016/2017 winter months with four recent victories, two of which at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania.
“We’re happy with our season. We spent some extra time on the road and had the opportunity to race at a few new tracks, as well as race in new areas of the country like Texas. That’s what we’ll remember the most,” Brent Marks explained. “I can’t thank my team, my family, my sponsors; they all play a huge part in everything I do. I’m excited to be a part of this team. We have some potentially big things lined up for 2017. The off-season goes by quickly. We’ll start working right away.”
Brent Marks will release upcoming plans during the coming weeks.
