DODGE CITY, Kan. (June 28, 2017) –
It all begins this Saturday, July 1, with the Mid-Season championships atop the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas.
The action then continues on Saturday night, July 15, with the final Lewis Automotive Night of the season at DCRP.
The month of July will then wrap up with the always popular Drivers Appreciation Night on Friday, July 28.
All three July cards will feature championship chase action for all five of the track’s classes including the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Hobby Stocks and IMCA Stock Cars.
Each July night of racing action at DCRP will fire off at 7:30 p.m. with tickets for each event just $15 for adults with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. A large number of free tickets will be distributed by the drivers for the July 28 Driver Appreciation Night.
Thus far, a handful of events have gone to the final checkered flag at DCRP in 2017 with another pair of nights falling victim to inclement weather.
A total of 177 competitors have taken part in DCRP action so far in 2017 with Taylor Velasquez (DCRP Sprint Cars), Cole Traugott (IMCA Modifieds), Jeff Kaup (IMCA Sport Modifieds), Angel Munoz (IMCA Stock Cars) and Reagan Sellard (IMCA Hobby Stocks) out to the lead going into Saturday’s Mid-Season Championships action.
The July trio of events will be critical in the title chases, as they will set the stage for the final pair of championship chase events in August and September before the DCRP season concludes with the return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars in October.
The 2017 season at Dodge City Raceway Park consists of 14 total nights of scheduled racing action, culminating with the return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car series for the “Boot Hill Showdown” on October 27-28.
