SELINSGROVE, Pa. (July 18, 2017) – Selinsgrove Speedway swings back into action at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, July 22, with a four division show featuring the 360 sprint cars, super late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners on Sunbury Eagles Club Night. Track gates will open at 5 p.m.
Both the 360 sprint cars and super late models will compete in 25-lap main events paying $2,000 to win.
For the super late models, Saturday night will be the fourth race in the Selinsgrove/Port Royal Speedways Moon Shine Camo Route 35 Challenge Series. The series point standings couldn’t be much closer with just nine points separating the top four drivers.
Defending series and track champion Jeff Rine has a mere one-point lead over Coleby Frye of Dover heading into this weekend. Chad Hollenbeck and Nick Dickson are just three and nine points behind the leader, respectively.
Remaining dates in the Moon Shine Camo Route 35 Challenge Series include Aug. 12 at Selinsgrove and Sept. 9 at Port Royal.
The standings in the chase for the 2017 Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center super late model track championship are also close entering the second half of the season. Steve Campbell recently took over the lead with a 55-point margin over Tony Adams. Hayes Mattern trails by 95 points in third.
In the Mach 1 Chassis 360 sprint car division, three-time winner Davie Franek holds a 280-point lead over former champion and opening day winner Jason Shultz.
The A&A Auto Stores pro stocks are led by four-time winner Tommy Slanker with a 160-point advantage over two-time winner Shaun Lawton. One-time winner Will Brunson leads the Collier Paving & Construction/A&A Auto Stores roadrunners by 100 points over Smith Cope.
Selinsgrove Raceway Park will present a program of go kart racing at 7 p.m. this Friday, July 21, featuring a $200-to-win Pro Series race for the adult cage animal class. Track gates open at 5:30 p.m.
