OHSWEKEN, Ont. (July 11, 2025) – Strickland’s and Abate & Associates presented the Summer Sprint Showcase on Friday at Ohsweken Speedway. Dylan Westbrook took the $10,000 win in the 360 Sprint Car event, while Jacob Dykstra, Dave Bailey, and Mason Anderson also claimed A-Main victories.
Kool Kidz-Corr/Pak 360 Sprint Cars
Cory Turner started on pole with Glenn Styres next to him for the 360 Sprint Car A-Main. Mike Lichty brought out a caution flag due to his spin off turn one. The restart saw Dylan Westbrook grab the lead. Westbrook began to pull away from the field, however a few caution flags diminished his lead. He defended each restart successfully though.
A red flag was thrown on lap twelve as Matt Billings flipped on the back stretch. Billings was unharmed but his car had terminal damage. Westbrook proved to be untouchable once racing resumed, and he claimed his 46th Ohsweken Speedway 360 Sprint Car division victory. Next to finish were D.J. Christie in second, Cory Turner third, Jordan Poirier fourth from row six, and hard charger Max Stambaugh fifth from row ten. The Summer Sprint Showcase paid $10,000 to the winner thanks to JR’s Riverside Bait & Tackle, while each A-Main starter earned at least $1,000 thanks to Glenn Styres Racing.
Strickland’s Crate Sprint Cars
Al Sleight and Holly Porter brought the 28 car field to the green flag for the Crate Sprint Car A-Main. The race had a false start when Tyler Podwinski and Brett Stratford tangled together and brought out the red flag. The restart went well, with Al Sleight taking command. Jacob Dykstra began to eat away at Sleight’s lead though, and overtook him on lap ten. The leaders were navigating through traffic when a caution flag came out on lap fourteen. This caution flag bred another which then resulted in the second red flag of the race when Jesse Costa flipped. Austin Roes had nowhere to go, driving straight into the stranded Costa. Both drivers were unharmed.
Sleight regained the lead on the restart, however it was short lived as the final caution flag of the race came out with four laps to go. Dykstra reclaimed the lead on the restart and went on to win the race. Rounding out the top five were Sleight in second, Eric Gledhill third, Adrian Stahle fourth, and Curtis Gartly fifth. The Crate portion of the Summer Sprint Showcase paid $2,000 to the winner and at least $300 to each A-Main starter thanks to Ackland Insurance.
Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stocks
The front row of the grid featured George Grosul and John Overholt to begin the Thunder Stock A-Main. Grosul led the first lap, however the race quickly halted due to a caution flag for Scott McPhail stopped on the track. Adam Plazek executed a great restart and claimed the lead. Plazek suffered a disastrous spin while trying to defend his lead and brought out caution flag on lap four.
Zack Bleich grabbed the lead on the restart, but Dave Bailey overtook Bleich on the next lap. Bailey never looked back once he got the lead, staying up front all the way to the checkered flag. A four-way battle for second place saw Bleich emerge with a runner-up finish, with Ryan Dinning taking the final podium step. Rounding out the top five were Ryan Beagle fourth, and Trevor DeBoer fifth.
Insta-Insulation Mini Stocks
Steve Milller started on pole alongside Doug Erskine to take the green flag for the Mini Stock A-Main. Ken Hair took the lead on the first lap, however a caution flag came out on lap two due to a loose wheel on the track. Mason Anderson had a perfect restart taking over the lead from Hair.
Anderson found himself in a position to take his first Ohsweken Speedway win as he held off the extremely competitive field of drivers. The race ran clean for the remaining laps, and Anderson them ran error-free to lock down the win. Finishing out the top five were Jeff Elsliger in second, Hair third, Alex Riley fourth, and Jeremy Cooper fifth.
