The 410ci series will compete in approximately 50 races each year throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Michigan. Details on a points fund and race payout are in the works, but Renegade Sprints President Shane Helms expects each race to pay at least $5,000 to win.
“That’s a race I’ve always wanted to win,” he said. “I grew up in that area and you want to leave your name at those race tracks. It meant something to me.”
“The track was so rough I think it broke some bolts in the front end,” he said. “After taking the checkered flag I went into turn one and the right front bolt in the steering arm broke.
Swindell will race the Bernie Stuebgen owned Indy Race Parts team during the Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Iowa Speedweek, which includes the 24 th annual Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals, the Front Row Challenge and the 54th annual FVP Knoxville Nationals Presented by Casey’s General Stores.
“We went to try a couple of different things on the car,” he said. “We went out with a different brand of torsion bars to try something a little different to pick up more speed than what we’ve had.
