Schatz Starts Season in Victory Lane at Volusia
Donny Schatz had to wait until June of last year to pick up his first win of the season. Schatz made sure visiting victory lane occurred much sooner in 2022 by winning the season opening event for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series during the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park.

Wednesday Washed Out at Volusia
Despite sunshine and clear skies on Wednesday afternoon, the continued rainfall Tuesday night into the early-morning hours on Wednesday has further saturated the Volusia Speedway Park grounds, forcing track and DIRTcar officials to cancel Wednesday’s DIRTcar Nationals program with driver safety and track preservation in mind.

ASCS CAS Non-Wing Sprint Cars Kicking Off 2022 Season This Weekend
Under the ASCS banner for the first time, the Central Arizona Speedway Non-Wing Sprint Cars will kick off their 2022 season with the Steffey Shootout this Friday, February 11, and Saturday, February 12. The two-night affair will be preceded by practice on Thursday, February 10, from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. (MT).

2022 USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series Season Preview
The USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Cars are poised for at least nine (9) dates at three (3) different racetracks in 2022. At press time, there are also three dates to be announced as Series Director Stephanie Odom looks for more shows to be added to the schedule. The Dirt Track at Kern County Raceway Park (Bakersfield, CA) hosts the season opener on February 26th and the “Championship Night” on October 15th. The series will also share the spotlight with the non-point 81st Running of the Turkey Night Grand Prix at Ventura Raceway (Ventura, CA) in late November.

The United Sprint Car Series (USCS) Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters invades Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, Georgia for the inaugural USCS Georgia Sprint Car Winter Nationals this coming Friday and Saturday, February 11th and 12th. These two nights of USCS winged sprint car racing action that is also rounds three and four of the 12-race 5th Annual USCS Winter Heat Series that kicked off at Hendry County Motorsports Park in Clewiston, Florida last weekend and ends on March 18th and 19th at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama.

Rain that started over the weekend and has continued into Tuesday has led to over-saturated grounds at Volusia Speedway Park, forcing DIRTcar, All Star and track officials to cancel Tuesday’s portion of the 51st DIRTcar Nationals. Tuesday’s events will not be made up.
