Travis Berryhill picked up the biggest victory of his career Wednesday night at the Chili Bowl Nationals picking the feature win on Hard Rock Casino Qualifying night. Berryhill raced back and forth with Kevin Bayer before pulling away during several late race restarts in the Manic Racing Fontana powered Stealth Chassis.

The late sprint car driver Bryan Clauson of California and then Indiana has been named the recipient of the 2016 “Thomas J. Schmeh Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Sport” by all three voting panels of the North American Sprint Car Poll.

Brady Bacon Named North American Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll “Driver Of The Year” For 2016
Brady Bacon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, today was named the 2016 “Driver of the Year” by the North American Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers for the first time. The United States Auto Club (USAC) point champion earned three (3) first-place ballots cast in the year-end poll. Richard Hoffman, owner of Bacon’s famed number 69 sprint car earned the 2016 non-winged sprint car “Team of the Year” award.

Courtney Conquers the Field Tuesday at the Chili Bowl
Tyler Courtney used to hang around the Clauson family’s race shop in hopes of learning to get an opportunity in racing. Tuesday night at the Chili Bowl Nationals Courtney from Indianapolis used that experience to drive an entry for Clauson-Marshall racing to victory lane. Courtney held off multiple challenges from Kyle Larson for the victory.
