Ballou leads wire to wire for USAC win at Putnamville

Lincoln Park Speedway has been very kind to Robert Ballou in recent years. Almost two years to the day of the Rocklin, California native’s career-turning triumph at the 5/16-mile dirt oval, Ballou once again took his own team to USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car victory lane at the track Friday night, holding off a late charge by Chad Boespflug to take the 2nd annual “Bill Gardner Sprintacular.”

Sammy Swindell scores feature win 50 at age 60 in Knoxville

Sammy Swindell added six days to his own record as the oldest 410 feature winner Friday night at Knoxville Raceway. Sammy is 60 years, 8 months and nine days old, and the Germantown, Tennessee driver won his second straight National Sprint League main event in a row at Knoxville aboard the Big Game Motorsports #1. Christian Bowman won a non-stop main event in the 305 class, by making a late race pass of Chris Walraven.

Schatz holds off Gravel for victory at Rockford
