SOD test completed with 2016 rules package

Hoosier Racing Tire and Sprints On Dirt recently conducted tire testing of the 2016 SOD spec tires. While the new SOD tires immediately affect SOD, they are destined to eventually have a significant impact on the entire world of sprint car racing. While support classes may provide a way for some tracks to support their headline sprint class or start a sprint class, nothing has really been done to help premier traveling organizations to boost car counts.

Swanson leads Silver Crown into the Finale at the Fairgrounds

Despite the fact that Kody Swanson of Kingsburg, Calif. has dominated USAC Silver Crown dirt racing the past two years, he faces stiff competition in this Saturday’s “Salt City 78” series finale at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. The weekend’s “Super Dirt Week XLIV” has been announced as the final racing event at the storied facility which first hosted National Championship racing in 1924.

Gerster wins feature, McCune wins championship at Rockford

Brian Gerster limped home a wounded machine the final 25 laps while Jimmy McCune clinched the 2015 Must See Racing Sprint Series (MSRSS) presented by ENGINE PRO championship Sunday afternoon at Rockford Speedway. Both drivers accounted for all but two MSRSS feature event victories in 2015. It was only fitting both drivers played a huge part of Sunday’s event.
