The first showdown of the season between the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products and the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs was a thriller as El Paso, Texas shoe John Carney II walked away with the night’s $2,000 score at the Springfield Raceway.
Bud Kaeding picked up the victory Saturday night with the King of the West Sprint Car Series. Bobby McMahan, Jonathan Allard, Chase Johnson, and Dominic Scelzi rounded out the top five.

Jason Barney won the season opening event for the Patriot Sprint Tour Saturday night at Merrittville Speedway. Jared Zimbardi, Mitch Brown, Steve Poirier, and Cory Turner rounded out the top five.
Joss Moffatt won the sprint car feature Saturday night at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Nick Billbee, Garrett Abrams, Michael Fischesser, and Dickie Gaines rounded out the top five.
Bill Balog won the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association feature Saturday night at Beaver Dam Raceway. Mike Reinke, Rob Pribnow, Jeremy Schultz,and Jordan Goldesberry rounded out the top five.
Dale Blaney scored a victory for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions on the home turf of the Pennsylvania Posse Saturday at Port Royal Speedway.
Brandon Spithaler, from nearby Evans City, PA, got his second win of the weekend at Mercer Raceway Park. After dominating the action the night before at Lernerville Speedway, Spithaler did the double. Ironically, those were the only two races that he has finished this season.
