An off weekend from the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championship chase allowed Day to return to his roots this week. The Clovis, CA native hooked up with the Jason Meyers Racing No. 14 team for a trio of World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races in the “Golden State.”

Back in May of this year, Kyle Cummins checked off his first career Eldora Speedway victory in what was his 17th attempt at taming the legendary 1/2-mile Rossburg, Ohio dirt oval. On Saturday night, the Princeton, Indiana racer checked off yet another new feat as he claimed his first career 4-Crown Nationals Presented by NKTELCO triumph, this one worth a cool $15,000.
