More than a dozen drivers are scheduled to seek their initial USAC Silver Crown Championship victory April 6 when the “Sumar Classic” unfolds at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track. If one can find victory lane they will become the series’ 100th different race winner in its 44 years! Pre-entries already suggest a “full field” for the 100-lap race.

Saturday night’s “Smokey Hanoian Classic” includes both the Honda USAC Western and BCRA Midgets and the USAC HPD Western Pavement Midgets. It’s the first of four scheduled USAC/BCRA Midget events at the one-third mile oval.

SOUTHWEST SPRINT POINT RACE BEGINS AT PEORIA SATURDAY
R.J. Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz. officially opens defense of his 2013 USAC Southwest Sprint Car championship when the series returns to Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz. Saturday. It’s billed as the CSP Opener” although the Southwest Sprint cars competed in six races there in January and February.
