USAC’s 2010 “Regional” racing calendar includes 39 races at nine different speedways, with champions crowned in four different racing series.
The opening Ford Focus events will be held March 24 and 25 at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway in conjunction with the USAC Mopar National Midgets. Six Focus events are scheduled at the Indianapolis (Ind.) Speedrome, while additional Focus events are slated at Kil-Kare Raceway in Xenia, Ohio, Plymouth (Ind.) Motor Speedway and Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway.
Gas City (Ind.) I-69 Speedway is scheduled to host dirt-track Ford Focus races in 2010, and negotiations are underway to finalize events at the quarter-mile dirt Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway.
The Focus Young Guns, making their initial appearance in the Midwest in 2010, will also compete at the Speedrome, Plymouth and Columbus, while the Regional Midgets have six races at the Speedrome and four at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich. as well as an event at Plymouth.
The USAC/WOMS Midget Racing Series calendar is currently being finalized and will be released in the immediate future. In addition, USAC is exploring venues for dirt-track “regional” Midget competition in 2010.
