Severe weather forecast prompts cancellation of Attica races

ATTICA, Ohio – A forecast for severe weather with the possibility of tornadoes and hail has prompted the cancellation of races at Attica Raceway Park for Friday, May 7.

“We are under a tornado watch throughout the night. For the safety of our fans and race teams we decided to cancel,” said Attica Operations Director Rex LeJeune.

The R&R Auto Wrecking 305 Engine Builders Challenge will be moved to Friday, May 14 on Custom Chrome Plating Night with the 410 sprints, Fultz Fabrications and Speed Shop UMP Late Models and Fremont Fence 305 Sprints in action. It will be the largest purse of the year at Attica for the 305 sprints. It is also the first ever night for the Fremont Attica Sprint Title Championship Series for the 305 sprints and is also a Kistler Racing Products FAST night for the 410 sprints.

Gates will open May 14 at 5 p.m. with racing underway at 7:45 p.m.
