SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Selinsgrove Speedway promoter Charlie Paige announced today the track will make the transition to 360-cubic inch sprint car racing beginning in 2014.

The 360 sprint cars will join the 358 sprint cars, which have been the track’s headline open wheel division since 2001, as part of the weekly racing programs next year. The track’s super late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners will also be returning for the new season.

The much-anticipated decision to feature the 360 sprint cars was made in an effort to increase car counts, provide competitive racing, and promote an open wheel division that continues to grow nationally.

Next year the 358 and 360 sprint cars will be permitted to compete with the 16- or 25-square-feet top wings.  Additional rules and specifications for the sprint cars will be finalized and released in the coming weeks.

Selinsgrove Speedway’s 2014 season opener will be the Race of Champions Icebreaker Weekend for 358 modifieds and big block modifieds Friday and Saturday, March 14-15.

Track officials will also be announcing the 2014 dates for the annual motorsports show at the Susquehanna Valley Mall soon.

This Saturday, Oct. 26, the DH&L Fire Co. will hold a race car flea market on the speedway grounds beginning at 7 a.m. Setup will be at 5 a.m.
