– EAGLE, Neb. (May 6, 2014) – Jack Dover has now claimed at least one feature victory in each of his 10 seasons as a sprint car driver.

Dover took the lead on a restart with approximately 10 laps remaining last Friday at Eagle Raceway en route to his first victory of the season during the Nebraska 360 Sprints race, which gives him a ton of momentum heading into a busy weekend.

“It’s definitely a confidence booster,” he said. “I expect to win every time I go there, but it helps to win going into an ASCS National Tour race on Thursday.”

Dover is scheduled to kick off a tripleheader weekend this Thursday with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., for the McCarthy Auto Group KC Klassic.

He will then return to a 305ci sprint car for the first time since 2005 on Friday at Crawford County Speedway in Denison, Iowa, before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday at Butler County Speedway in Rising City, Neb., with the NCRA and Nebraska 360 Sprints.

“Hopefully we’ll be talking about three wins next week,” said Dover, who garnered a victory in his first visit to Lakeside Speedway in 2012 and who captured a trio of wins last season at Butler County Speedway.

Dover had a successful night last Friday from the time the team unloaded at Eagle Raceway.

“The track was real wet from all the rain we had,” he said. “Nobody really learned anything in hot laps because it was too greasy and slimy. I think starting on the pole of my heat race helped because it was so locked down and everybody was fast.”

Dover led the distance of his heat race, which earned him enough points to advance to the feature redraw. He then pulled the No. 3 in the random draw to start the main event on the inside of the second row.

“Starting that far up definitely helps,” he said. “I wasn’t disappointed with drawing a three.”

Dover maintained third place for the first 15 laps of the main event before the top-two drivers collided, which crashed one of them. When the race restarted, Dover executed a slide job in turn one for the top spot.

“The car was really good on take off,” he said. “I was right on (the leader’s) bumper at the cone and I just ducked down and went on by him.”

Dover cruised to the victory, which also marked his third top five in four races this season.
