Chico, CA — (March 24, 2015) — The Greatest Show on Dirt, the World of Outlaw sprint car series, returns to the historic Silver Dollar Speedway this Saturday night, March 28. The last time the Outlaws raced at Chico was on September 6, 2014 when local driver Jonathan Allard beat the greatest drivers in the world on his home track. In fact, Allard became the first Chico native to win the exclusive Gold Cup Race of Champions Saturday night main event. We assume the Outlaws will remember the sting of losing to a local and will want continue their dominating ways at Chico and win the $10,000 Saturday night 40-lap main event.

Tickets for the Saturday March 28 event are on sale and can be acquired by visiting http://dirtcar.ticketforce.com/default.asp… or by contacting 1-877-395-8606. General admission tickets cost $39, while reserved grandstand seats cost $45. Children 12 & under are free.

Will Call and the ticket sales window will open at noon on Saturday at the track, the pit gate will open at 2pm, and the front gate will open at 5pm, with qualifying scheduled for 6pm & racing at 7pm.

Local sprint car drivers have had their way with the World of Outlaws during this West Coast Swing. San Jose driver and two-time Silver Dollar Speedway champion Tim Kaeding won the Friday night main event at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare on March 13. The following night Rutherford, CA driver Rico Abreu beat the Outlaws at the same track. Abreu then backed up that win by dominating this past Sunday night at The Dirt Track in Stockton. Other locals looking to win the Mini Gold Cup are Roseville’s Sean Becker, Chico’s Kyle Hirst and Auburn’s Andy Forsberg.
Even though the locals have proven their toughness this early season it is still the World of Outlaw drivers who will be the favorites to win it all coming into Saturday night. Bixby, Oklahoma’s Shane Stewart currently leads the World of Outlaws standings by 18-markers over six-time & defending series champion Donny Schatz of Fargo, North Dakota. The pair was involved in one of the most exciting late race duels in recent memory last week in Stockton. Schatz came out on top by inches to become the first repeat winner at the time. Stewart is in his first full season with the Greatest Show on Dirt while driving the Larson/Marks Racing No. 2 and captured victory a few weeks back in Las Vegas.
Completing the top-10 in World of Outlaws points going into this weekend are California natives Paul McMahan & Brad Sweet, Indian’s Joey Saldana, Oklahoma’s Daryn Pittman, Australian Kerry Madsen, Connecticut’s David Gravel, Tennesee’s Jason Sides & Iowa’s Terry McCarl.

On Friday night the Silver Dollar Speedway will host its first point show of the season. Winged 360 sprints will race for $2,000 to win. Other divisions on Friday night will include wingless sprints, dwarf cars and economy winged sprints.
Front gate will open at 6pm with racing slated to start at 7:30pm. Adult general admission is $16.00, seniors and juniors $13.00, children $6.00 and kids five and under are free.
Camping is available at the fairgrounds for $35.00 per night.
