Folkens Brothers Trucking Spring Nationals Kicks Off Jackson Motorplex Season Friday

JACKSON, Minn. (May 16, 2016) – The 9th annual Folkens Brothers Trucking Spring Nationals is on tap this Friday at Jackson Motorplex, which will showcase its recently renovated facility during the season-opening event.

The half-mile oval is presenting a $10,000-to-win feature for the Spirit Lake Silver & Gold NSL 410 Sprint Cars with extra money added to the purses for the Last-Deck® 360 Sprint Cars, which features the GoMuddy.com NSL 360 Tri-State Region, and Liquid Nitro IMCA 305 sprints as well.

“A lot of people have put in countless hours getting ready for the season, which we’re excited to kick off with the Folkens Brothers Trucking Spring Nationals,” Jackson Motorplex General Manager Doug Johnson said. “We think the fans, teams and sponsors will be pleasantly surprised by the updates to the facility and our plans for future growth at Jackson Motorplex.”

The 2016 season will begin on Friday night with an all sprint car event featuring two-to-three dozen premier sprint car drivers competing for the $10,000 top prize in the Spirit Lake Silver & Gold NSL 410 Sprint Cars class.

Friday’s event will also be the first of 14 races for the Last-Deck® 360 Sprint Cars featuring the GoMuddy.com NSL 360 Tri-State Region this season, including six nights with double features.

Lee Grosz and Ryan Bickett have each won GoMuddy.com NSL 360 Tri-State Region races this season at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa.

Tickets for the Folkens Brothers Trucking Spring Nationals are $25 for adult general admission, $23 for seniors ages 65 and older, $12 for students ages 13 to 18 and free for children ages 12 and younger. Pit passes are $35.

The pits are slated to open at 4:30 p.m. with the front gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps will begin around 7:30 p.m.

Jackson Motorplex will also host racing on Saturday as IMCA a mods, IMCA stock cars, IMCA sport mods, IMCA hobby stocks and IMCA sport compacts will be competing.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors ages 65 and older, $6 for students ages 13 to 18 and free for children ages 12 and younger. Pit passes are $30.

The pits will open at 4 p.m. with the main gates opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 7 p.m.

CASH BOWL –

The GoMuddy.com NSL 360 Series has more than $500,000 up for grabs during the 2016 season. The series established the ‘Cash Bowl’ in an effort to allow racers from across the country a great opportunity to generate money. Any driver who competes in at least one national race and 15 regional races or 90 percent of any region’s events is eligible for the Cash Bowl, which pays $10 per point. The final night of a national event provides 120 points to win and eight points to start the main event. Regional races deliver 30 points to win and two points to start.

Additionally, the top five drivers in overall national and regional points at the end of the 2016 season will split more than $50,000 in bonus money with the national champion pocketing $20,000.
