Countdown to the World Finals: 6 Days

From Tony Veneziano

Concord, NC— The third annual World of Outlaws World Finals featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series is quickly approaching at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, November 5-7. In the 11 days leading up to the three-day action packed season ender, World of Outlaws drivers will share their thoughts on what is quickly becoming one of the “Must See” marquee events of the year.

The next driver up is Jason Meyers, who enters the World Finals just 19 markers behind Donny Schatz in the World of Outlaws championship standings as he chases his first series title. The native of Clovis, California was victorious in the first ever A-Feature event of the inaugural World Finals in 2007. In the four main events contested during the first two World Finals, he has finished eighth or better in each and every one, with three of those being Top-Five performances. Meyers has nine career Top-10 finishes at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway including a sixth-place run this past May during the Outlaws Showdown at the high-banked four-tenths-mile.

“They’ve done a great job with that event. With the format and also that time of the year there is not a lot of racing going on and it has become quite an intriguing event with a packed house every time we have been down there. It’s certainly become one of our bigger events, especially for the fans and hopefully with that, it will become one of the bigger paydays for the race teams as well. Qualifying is very important at Charlotte and getting that right starting position. It’s a very high speed place and starting in the right spot in a key, as well as having a good pill draw.”

The finale of the World Finals will air live on SPEED on Saturday, November 7 beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern, with Bobby Gerould on the call and Brad Doty offering expert analysis along with Shane Andrews and Erin Crocker reporting from the pit area.

On Thursday, November 5 at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motors Speedway, adult tickets will be $10, with tickets for children 12-under just $5.

On Friday, November 6 at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway, adult tickets will be $35, with tickets for children 12-under just $10.

On Saturday, November 7 at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway, adult tickets will be $35, with tickets for children 12-under just $10.
