Wisconsin Dells, WI – Driver champion Scott Hatton and car owner Huston Solution Racing headlined the list of honorees at the annual Badger Midget Auto Racing Association awards banquet Saturday Night at the Kalahari Convention Center & Water Park. The event brought the curtain down on the 73rd anniversary season for the series.
It marked the third Badger Champion for Hatton and Huston who competed their tenth season of racing together. Hatton started the season off with fifteen straight top five feature finishes. Seven drivers scored feature victories in the 21-event season, led by runner-up Brad Loyet’s five victories. Hatton and Huston also took home the lionshare of a $30,000 cash point fund.
Other award winners included: Bob Shreffler (Most Improved Driver), Courtney Erfurth (Rookie of the Year), Harlan Kittleson (Mechanic of the Year), Loyet (Hoosier Hard Charger), Hatton (Terry Vaughn Award), Bryan Clauson (Frank Conner Award), Amy Schulz (Pat Stender Award), Loyet Motorsports (Kevin Doty Award), Jason Dull, Bryon Walters, Eric Johnson, Kurt Mayhew and David Budres (Driver Achievements), National Speed Sport News (Media Award), Dan Thiel (Appreciation Award), Chad DeSelle and Davey Ray (Hard Luck), Jerry Hardy (Best Appearing Car), and Huston Solution Racing (Best Dressed Crew).
Spike (chassis), and Ford-Esslinger (engine) won the Badger Midget Manufacturers Championship awards for the second straight year. The 2010 season schedule will be released in late-December/early-January .
