Kraig Kinser Back to SRK 11K for 2010

BLOOMINGTON, Ind — Steve Kinser Racing (SKR) is proud to announce that 25 year-old Kraig Kinser, the 2005 Knoxville Nationals Champion, has returned to pilot the 11k Gerkin-Kinser Racing Engines-powered Maxim Chassis on the 2010 World of Outlaws (WoO) racing tour.

The Bloomington, Indiana native, now living in Charlotte, North Carolina, originally left the family car to follow an opportunity driving in the ARCA series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck series. For the last two seasons, he has toured with the WoO, driving for another team, and is now “home” in the 11k.

“I’m very excited to be back in the family-owned car — I’ve had some success while running for my dad (20-time WoO Champion, Steve Kinser) and am confident that 2010 will be a great year for us,” said the third-generation driver.

Coming to the 11k Steve Kinser Racing machine will be rookie crew chief, Mike Kuemper. Kuemper has several years of experience working on both winged and non-winged sprint cars and will be working alongside Kraig’s sister, Stevie, who will also be working with the young team.

“Sprint car racing in our family has always been a family affair, and I’m really looking forward to working with my sister, Stevie, along with Mike, and to growing together as a team,” noted Kraig. “Our team is young, definitely not a team full of veterans, but with the experience of the guys in the shop, not to mention my dad, we are just going to go out, have fun and try to win some races along the way.”

SKR is searching for a primary sponsor for the 11k team, however Quaker State and Mesilla Valley Transportation have signed on as associate sponsors for the 2010 season.
