Come and meet your favourite Performance Wholesale World Series Sprintcars drivers during the East Coast Pipeline Speedweek Open Pit Party at each of the 5 Speedweek rounds.
The pits will be open from 3pm to 4pm prior to each meeting so fans get the chance to grab some exciting team merchandise and autographs before the drivers suit up for hot laps.
World Series General Manager Steven Green says it is important to build the profile of the drivers with events such as these. “This is a unique chance for fans to get up close and personal with the drivers and cars of the Performance Wholesale World Series Sprintcars championship. Usually they would have to wait until the end of the night to get a photo of their favourite driver or have merchandise signed so I see this as an ideal opportunity to give something back to the fans while also gaining more exposure for the teams and sponsors.
“The East Coast Pipeline Speedweek Open Pit Party is another promotional initiative from the World Series working party designed to raise the bar and build the series to more than just a race meeting. As well as the traditional season launch we have had a display in Toowoomba, eat and meet at Hogs Breath in Parramatta, Speedweek launch in Rundle Mall and of course the open pit at each Speedweek round.
“We have plans to make the big screen more interactive at rounds, we are trying a new format with the Vortex Top 8 Shootout, we have just purchased a PWWSS truck and have Wade Aunger back on deck and that is just the beginning. We are yet to see the amazing benefits of the television coverage of One HD so the future is bright and no doubt next year will be even better again. The tracks, drivers, crew chiefs, PWWSS officials and NASR staff have been fantastic to work with so it’s all positive,” said Green.
