ROSSBURG, OH (April 19) – As promised in his open letter to the Eldora Speedway race fans, track owner, and two-time NASCAR Cup champion, Tony Stewart has rescheduled the postponed opening night leg of the Coca-Cola Spring Classic for Wednesday night, May 12, 2010. And he has done so in a big way.

As was to have been the case on April 2, when the event was postponed, the non-winged USAC (United States Auto Club) Sprint cars and the UMP (United Midwestern Promoters) Modifieds will be in action for the mid-week doubleheader.

On that night, the adult general admission price will be $10; a price not seen for USAC Sprint racing since the 1960 era. Additionally, children 15 and under will be admitted free of charge; to make this event, also dubbed as the Jud Larson/Don Branson Memorial, the best bargain of the year at the one-half mile clay oval.

The Modified portion will see increased interest, as Stewart will be bringing his Modified to compete against the Eldora regulars. Since his purchase of the facility, Stewart has put on his helmet to race Sprint Cars and Late Models, but this will mark his debut in the Modified ranks.

In a move of appreciation to the Eldora fans, Stewart will arrive early that Wednesday and host a pre-race autograph session. Open to the first 500 patrons receiving an arm band, Tony will be on hand to sign one item per person, before moving down to the pit area to change hats from a promoter to a racer.

The Coca-Cola Spring Classic will usher in the 49th consecutive season of USAC racing at Eldora Speedway.
