Bronson Maeschen (17th car out to time) set quick time at 15.480 seconds. Terry McCarl (23rd car out) was second quick, followed by Josh Schneiderman (18th), Brian Brown (1st), Ian Madsen (24th), Mark Dobmeier (7th), Dusty Zomer (11th), Don Droud Jr. (29th), Austin McCarl (27th) and Tim Kaeding (9th). Mike Deavers failed to get a time in and scratched for the night.
Heat one (started): 1. Jamie Veal 35AU (1) 2. Mike Moore 69 (2) 3. Brown 21 (5) 4. Kaeding 83 (3) 5. Zomer 91 (4) / 6. Maeschen 1 (6) 7. Jonathan Cornell 28 (8) 8. Zach Zimmerly 94 (7) 9. Barry Martinez 66 (9) DNS – Rager Phillips 10
Veal led the distance and was gone at the checkers in the 8-lapper. Zomer and Maeschen provided some good racing for the final transfer, exchanging the spot in the last two laps.
Heat two (started): 1. T. McCarl 24 (6) 2. Droud Jr. 47 (4) 3. Lynton Jeffrey 12 (7) 4. Davey Heskin 56 (1) 5. Madsen 55 (5) / 6. Mitchell Dumesny 77AU (2) 7. Max Dumesny 5V (3) 8. Domain Ramsey 20 (9) 9. Joey Moughan 2m (8)
Heskin led for one lap before a Ramsey spin brought the caution. Heskin led T. McCarl, Mi. Dumesny, Droud Jr. and Moughan, who moved up to fifth from eighth at the start. Two laps later, Madsen, who had fallen back, put a bad slidejob on Moughan. The two cars impacted. Moughan was able to save it from the fence, but suffered enough damage to come to a stop and retire from the race. Heskin now led T. McCarl, Droud Jr., a surging Jeffrey and Mi. Dumesny back to green. Another bump and run from Madsen got him the final transfer and sent Mi. Dumesny reeling. He incredibly saved the 77AU from the fence and a wild ride. T. McCarl took the lead after the restart and cruised.
Heat three (started): 1. Skip Jackson 2 (2) 2. A. McCarl 17A (4) 3. Chad Meyer 4 (1) 4. Dobmeier 13 (5) 5. Schneiderman 49 (6) / 6. Seth Brahmer 13v (3) 7. Robby Wolfgang 7K (7) 8. Bob Weuve 19 (8) 9. Matt Wasmund 4w (9)
Jakcson led flag to flag in a mostly single-file affair. The cushion gave Schneiderman the momentum to gain the final transfer, but Brahmer came close to reclaiming at the checkers.
B main (started): 1. Maeschen (1) 2. Max Dumesny (2) 3. Mi. Dumesny (4) 4. Wolfgang (6) 5. Brahmer (3) / 6. Cornell (7) 7. Moughan (8) 8. Zimmerly (5) 9. Wasmund (10) 10. Martinez (12) 11. Ramsey (11) 12. Weuve (9) DNS – Phillips, Deavers
Maeschen dominated from beginning to end. Cornell and Moughan reeled in Brahmer, but never seriously challenged for the transfer spot in the 12-lapper.
A main (started): 1. T. McCarl (6) 2. Dobmeier (2) 3. Kaeding (9) 4. Brown (4) 5. Schneiderman (5) 6. Zomer (1) 7. Madsen (3) 8. Jeffrey (15) 9. Maeschen (16) 10. Droud Jr. (7) 11. Jackson (11) 12. A. McCarl (8) 13. Moore (10) 14. Meyer (14) 15. Max Dumesny (17) 16. Mi. Dumesny (18) 17. Veal (12) 18. Heskin (13) 19. Wolfgang (19) 20. Brahmer (20)
Dobmeier shot out to an early lead in the 20-lapper, and pulled away from T. McCarl, until hitting traffic. Kaeding went to work with Zomer in a battle for fourth and fifth, while Dobmeier negotiated traffic well to keep the lead. A lapped car was between Dobmeier and T. McCarl on lap 14, when Brahmer spun. The restart saw Dobmeier ahead of T. McCarl, Brown, Kaeding and Zomer. On the restart, T. McCarl took the lead in turn three with a big slidejob. Dobmeier came back with one of his own, but tucked in behind to finish second. Kaeding worked by Brown for third., while Schneiderman drove into the top five. Jeffrey was the hard-charger, gaining seven spots, while Maeschen gained the same amount after winning the B. The win was worth $3,000, and T. McCarl’s 49th at Knoxville, which is fourth all-time. It also marked the 251st of his career.
360s
Josh Higday set quick time in group qualifying at 16.336 seconds in his first night out in the Dwight Snodgrass machine. Dustin Selvage was second quick, followed by Bryan Dobesh, Clint Garner, Brian Brown, Russ Hall, Chad Humston, RJ Johnson, Ryan Roberts and Tony Shilling. Mike Hess and Travis Porter were disqualified for having the wrong tire on. Jon Agan got no time in after suffering problems in time trials. Johnny Anderson also had problems and scratched for the night.

McCarl and Van Haaften back to green flag racing. Brown took second on the restart and then slid in front of Martin to lead lap three. Selvage surged from sixth to pass RJ Johnson in the final corner for third.
Heat three (started): 1. Danny Heskin 6 (1) 2. Roberts 18 (4) 3. David Hall 51 (3) 4. Dobesh 54 (6) 5. Jon Agan 4 (9) / 6. Jesse Giannetto 10 (8) 7. Bobby Mincer 14s (2) 8. Alan Zoutte 33 (7) 9. R. Hall 45c (5)
Heskin led flag to flag, while there was chaos behind. R. Hall surged up to second at one time, but Roberts was able to ride the rim around two cars for second. D. Hall and R. Hall battled for third when Dobesh entered the picture. R. Hall faded from fifth to the infield on lap five, while Agan snatched up the last transfer from the tail.
B main (started): 1. Higday (1) 2. Van Haaften (3) 3. Giannetto (7) 4. Heimbaugh (5) 5. Hess (9) / 6. Mincer (2) 7. Peterson (4) 8. Zoutte (8) 9. Porter (6) DNS – R. Hall, Beaver, Mosher, J. Anderson, Ball
Higday shot out to the lead in the 8-lapper, and was able to maintain. Giannetto was a mover early and quickly in a transfer spot en route to a good run to third. Hess used the low side to move up from the tail, and slid by Mincer for the final transfer with two to go.
A main (started): 1. Brown (3) 2. Humston (2) 3. Garner (4) 4. Selvage (6) 5. RJ Johnson (1) 6. Roberts (7) 7. Agan (15) 8. Schneiderman (12) 9. Dobesh (5) 10. Giannetto (18) 11. D. Hall (9) 12. Humston led early, but Brown was able to maneuver around him to lead lap two in the 15-lapper. Brown put multiple cars between himself and Humston, who was challenged by Garner. Brown continued on and was off to the races. Moro and Giannetto contacted in front of the leader on lap 13, with Moro tipping over in the incident. He was uninjured. Brown led Humston, Garner, Selvage and RJ Johnson back to green and that is how it would end. Agan was the hard-charger, while Giannetto also moved up eight spots. The win was Brown’s 7th in a 360 at Knoxville.

Cram shot out to the lead in the 12-lapper. With one lap in the books, Breazeale checked up behind Ross’s right rear and got into the wall, flipping wildly, and tearing the front end off the car. He was taken to the hospital for observation. Cram led Phillips, Widmar, Ball and Ross back to green. Widmar and Phillips battled for second, while Cram pulled away. On lap eight, he smacked the right rear into the wall hard and a loose condition surfaced. Two laps later, with several lapped cars between him and Ball, who had moved into second, a sixth running Van Haaften stopped in turn four. With two to go, Cram led Ball, Widmar, Phillips and Marty Stephenson on the restart. While Widmar worked to get by Ball, Cram pulled away for the win in his first 305 start ever. He was filling in for Ray Evernham, who was at the Brickyard 400. Huston was the hard-charger.
